From 2016-2019, the archive produced Footnotes in addition to the regular de Appel projects. Footnotes were presentations that could be anything. For example, during Brace for Impact, the final project of the Curatorial Programme 2017-2018, a tour of Schiphol's art collection was organized. With the exhibition of Tamász Kazás, a longer-running footnotes was initiated in which the archive of Works and Words, a manifestation from 1979 in which de Appel invited artists and thinkers from Eastern Europe was researched and published on the website. As part of 2-Unlimited Willem de Ridder's The Walk, 1981 was repeated in the present.
