De Appel Archive is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 6pm. The library is accessible during regular opening hours of de Appel. Books are displayed on shelves on the ground floor, in the triangle-shaped corridor and in glass cabinets. There are work tables and comfortable chairs for reading and browsing. When putting the books back into the shelves, make sure you place them in the same place where you found them so that others can find them again. To remember the location you can put a sheet of paper in place of the book. If you have any doubts about the correct location, there is a shelf for returned books to the right side of the Archive Office entrance. The books cannot be taken outside of the building.

Part of the Archive and library of de Appel is publicly accessible, another part is accessible upon request. For archival research, to view books in the glass cabinets and access to video and audio files, you can make an appointment with the archivists by emailing archive[at]deappel.nl. Upon request, the archivist can accompany researchers to the external storage facility of the Archive to conduct in-depth archival research. See below for the pertaining costs. Loans for presentations can be arranged in consultation by emailing archive[at]deappel.nl.
