Michel Szulc Krzyzanowski "Hollandse Week: Naakt zijn"
de Appel, Brouwersgracht 196, Amsterdam

'In our culture, a change is taking place in the experiencing of the human body. I wanted to determine the state of that process of change by inviting people who felt free from taboos to come to De Appel and be photographed in the nude. Advertisements were placed in Het Parool, Vrij Nederland and De Telegraaf, and hundreds of people replied and continued doing so until six weeks after the exhibition. I took photographs daily in De Appel in the period from 4 to 11 June, photographing a total of fourty-seven men and two women. The photos were exhibited immediately, together with a video documenting the activities.'
