Martin La Roche String Too Short To Be Saved
de Appel, Prins Hendrikkade 142, Amsterdam
String Too Short To Be Saved the new work by Martin La Roche consists of two unfolding performances on Janu 13 and 27 and an installation in the Curatorial Programme Final Project exhibition Spell to Spelling**Speling to Spell.
Two collections have been folded into crates and forgotten for many years due to different circumstances: The Archive of the Planet gathered by French banker Albert Kahn between 1910 and 1930, and the collection of everyday objects by Italian-Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi in the 1960s. Is this way of collecting still relevant? Martin La Roche asks, while physically unfolding objects and images from the boxes.
This work has been kindly supported by the Van Eyck (Maastricht).
