Henryetta Duerschlag about the French Horn
de Appel, Prins Hendrikkade 142, Amsterdam
Sunday October 16th Henryetta Duerschlag will tell about the realisation of the installation The French Horn, part of the Unresolved Extravaganza exhibition by Gabriel Lester.
Please make reservations if you want to join in via reservation [at] deappel.nl
All the material in this installation has been collected, drawn or written on the spot. The drawings are the work of André Chapatte, with whom Lester made the small publication Trust me. I am an Artist in 2014. Henryetta Duerschlag functioned as the research editor. Writer and musician Olaf Zwetsloot, with whom Lester recorded the hip-hop maxi-single Peanutbutter in 1993, worked as text writer and editor. The research team was further supported by architect Anna Dolcetta, and Sjuul Stax and Romy Yedida.
The French Horn reveals an installation of interconnected associations between great thinkers, destroyers, human and non-human heroes and victims, musicians, cowards and triangles. Within the associative panorama no hierarchies are made, everything is intertwined and more questions raised than answered.
Unresolved Extravaganza is on show till November 6, 2016
