Urs Lüthi – Amsterdam performance

This video is the record of Urs Luthi’s performance at de Appel on 4th, 5th and 6th of April 1975. Every one of these days the artist came to the exhibition space where three self-portraits were hanging. On each self-portrait Luthi was captured having a different look and identity. Having been dressed same as on the self-portatits, he covered the portraits one by one, day by day in black, white and red by spraying the paint on them. By means of slideprojector the lights in the exhibition room went on and off.
