Alison Knowles sits at the table. Two masks and paper cards are laid in front of her. She puts both masks on her head at once and alternales them. Once she puts one mask before her eyes, she reads the sketches and notes about shoes and shoemakers, written on the cards. When she puts on another mask, she gesticulates silently.
