Majit Krishna Kaur & Emma…

Majit Krishna Kaur & Emma Wolukau-Wanambwa

23.04.2016
de Appel, Prins Hendrikkade 142, Amsterdam

The discussion between Manjit Krishna Kaur and Emma Wolukau-Wanambwa is the inaugural event of the Co-Speaking Programme under the project YOU MUST MAKE YOUR DEATH PUBLIC, part of the larger project Untitled (two takes on crisis), which takes place at de Appel arts centre, the from 23rd of April to the 12th of June, 2016. It is an initiative of the 2015-16 Curatorial Programme of de Appel arts centre.

One of the key propositions of the project You Must Make Your Death Public, is in relation to the idea of inviting individuals and communities into de Appel, as Co-Speakers. The activities of the project are not targeted towards a certain audience or to certain groups of people but are focused on trying to establish co-speaking processes with existing communities and people concerned with, and in conversation about, contemporary conditions of crises. It will be programmed in the formats of movie screenings, presentations, talks, and community gathering.

This first event will invite speakers to reflect on the institution as an entity and the norms and values it reproduces.
