In the context of the official inauguration of the new premises of de Appel arts centre by Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima, artist Feiko Beckers (NL) put on a performance with the theme "not only beginnings are difficult, but all ends are also."
Beckers made a connection between the fact that he always finds it very comlicated to end a dinner with his father in a suitable way, and the fact that the ceremonial opening is no sinecure. In both cases he invited Princess Maxima to act as Deus ex Machina and to take part in a ritual which not only siginified the opening of the Appel arts centre, but also the end of Becker's dinner with his father.
You can read the full transcipt (in Dutch) of the performance.
