Monika Szewczyk is a Berlin- and Rotterdam-based writer, editor and curator. She is head of publications at the Witte de With, Center for Contemporary Art and a tutor at the Piet Zwart Institute, Willem de Kooning Academy, both in Rotterdam. She has written extensively on, as well as organized and engaged in public dialogue about, contemporary art and culture. Among her essays, is "The Open Art of Valerie Mannaerts", in A Prior magazine (Summer 2007).
