‘Kaspar Koenig, organizer of Westkunst in Cologne and Von Hier Aus in Dusseldorf, is preparing a major exhibition in Münster exactly ten years after he invited Andre, Judd, Oldenburg and many others there for 'public sculptures' in 1977. This time, 50 artists have been invited to take part in this presentation either with a work which is already realised or with a proposal for a work. Names include Richard Deacon, Thomas Schütte, Reinhard Mucha, Katharina Fritsch, Shirazeh Houshiary, but some older artists such as Luciano Fabro and Donald Judd will also participate. The opening of this exhibition (which runs parallel to Documenta in Kassel) is on 14 June. On 3 May Koenig will talk about this event which takes the role of the monument and the public function of art as its subject.’ (‘Sunday afternoons: Kaspar Koenig - Skulptur Projekte in Münster 1987’, Newsletter De Appel, 2 (1987) 2.)
