Judith Barry "Mass Fantasies / Special Cultures"

‘On May 17, artist Judith Barry of New York will give a lecture on 'special effects' in film and advertising. Inspired by Adorno and Baudrillard’s theories of mass culture, among others, and by means of videotapes and slides, she will speak on the history of memory and the imagination and how they are captured through film montage. Place: Sociologisch Instituut der Gemeente Universiteit, Oude Hoogstraat 24, Amsterdam. (...)
