'Guy Rombouts (...) found back a reproduction of The Five Senses , a painting he had kept for years, and that had been made by one of his ancestors Theodoor Rombouts. Guy Rombouts decided to try and visualize the five characters in the work representing the five senses by making for each of them a list of 26 words, that excited one of the senses. Words that are all composed of three letters and the first letter of which follows the order of the alphabet. Thus coming to results such as: ARC, BOX, DOT, EEL etc. for the sight. Five different Amsterdam spaces are going to exhibit these senses, i.e. show them to the public in the shape of a number of objects for each group of 26 words': To see at the Vlaams Cultureel Centrum (Nes 45), To feel at Galerie 'A' (Kleine Gartmanplantsoen 12), To hear in front of Oey's Etalage (Prinsengracht 128), To smell at Other Books and So Archive (Bloemgracht 121) and To taste at De Appel (Brouwersgracht 196). On Thursday April 8 the installation will be opened: at Galerie βAβ from 8 p.m., at the Vlaams Cultureel Centrum from 8.30 p.m. in front of Oey's shop window from 9 p.m., at Other Books and So Archive from 9.30 p.m. and at De Appel from 10 p.m.. The installations can be seen through April 17, except the one in Oey's shop window that can be seen from April 3 trough April 10. (De Appel, 2 (1982) 1, pp. 2, 4.)
