"Terre rummaging off-screen", Serge Garcia, Grand Central Hotel, 2021.

GRAND CENTRAL HOTEL
USA / 2021 / Color / 16mm / 24'

Synopsis:

Grand Central Hotel is a ruminative portrait about the multimedia producer, writer, and audio remixer Terre Thaemlitz (a/k/a DJ Sprinkles). The film follows Terre as she arrives at a nondescript hotel for a night and maps for viewers her conflict with gender and identity constructs, her frustration as an aging trans person, and a brazen twist that becomes a radical gesture and astute political statement. The film reveals a rare shrewdness and a solitary struggle for autonomy and its precarious shifts.
