Min Oh

Description

Initially trained as a pianist, Min Oh explores the perception, engagement, and generation of time at the intersection of visual art, music, and dance, where time-based installations and live performances converge. Influenced by the contemporary musical phenomenon of sound mass, Oh investigates the notion of “simultaneity,” a non-hierarchical, highly saturated composite of heterogeneous conceptual and sensory components. She particularly delves into a correlational language between text, image, and sound; content and form; inside and outside; and process and end result within the spatio-temporal dimension.

Her work has been presented at MMCA (KR), MCAD (TH), MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum (PH), M+ (HK), Ilmin Museum of Art (KR), Total Museum (KR), Suwon Museum of Art (KR), Morsbroich Museum (DE), Pohang Museum of Art (KR), Art Sonje Center (KR), Nuit Blanche (FR), Atelier Hermès (KR), Buk-Seoul Museum of Art (KR), Museum De Domijnen (NL), Daegu Art Museum (KR), Doosan Gallery (US, KR), Arko Art Center (KR), Kukje Gallery (KR), Nam June Paik Art Center (KR), De Nederlandsche Bank (NL), and Kunsthalle Erfurt (DE).
