Description
The LBC Video group was a collective, connected to the Rotterdam Art Foundation, which made a variety of art-related interviews and documentaries about various subjects, sometimes commissioned. Also, the group assisted the artists who came to work in the color video studio at Lijnbaancentrum.
The group had many (variable) participants.
Members over the years were: Henk Elenga, Erik van Dieren, Wink van Kempen, Albert Roskam, Har Brok, Frederique Kappelhof, Marja Bijvoet, Hein Reedijk, Raymond Campfens, Felix Valk, Ernst Pommerel, Joost Swarte.

The Rotterdam Lijnbaancentrum (1970-1982) was one of the first institutes in the Netherlands to have a video colour studio at their disposal. It was primarily used to make tapes in support of the centre's own presentation programme, but also to make programmes for external clients (museums and organisations such as the Sonsbeek festival, etc.), while artists were allowed to make use of the equipment and technical staff. The Lijnbaancentrum video team consisted of Henk Elenga, Frederique Kappelhof, Wink van Kempen and Henk Tas. Because of its multiple objectives, the Lijnbaancentrum video collection included, on the one hand, a great many tapes on socio-cultural and culture-philosophical subjects and, on the other, unique material from now famous artists. The Rotterdam Art Foundation housed tapes of art-historical importance with the Netherlands Media Art Institute. (www.li-ma.nl)
