2 UNLIMITED is an exhibition in and about Amsterdam
It features people, objects, and ideas currently residing in the city
It considers homegrown artistic practices as critical and analytical tools
And the poetics and imaginaries of this space and time

.

2 UNLIMITED is set in the current age of ultra–development and mass tourism
But instead of decrying:
.
No no, no no no no, no no no no, no no there’s no limit!
.
It foregrounds the work of new artistic communities that are grounded in Amsterdam’s everyday reality
and its potential transformation
.
2 UNLIMITED gathers artists and critical thinkers
.
To present new possibilities for communication, language, communality, design
To break down exclusionary narratives and falsified myth–making
To not look back, only look forward
To dare imagine different futures
To rip it up and start again
To not give up the fight
.
Let me hear you say “Yeah”!

Join us for the opening of 2 Unlimited an exhibition and programme about artistic life in Amsterdam today. The project gathers artists, critical thinkers, and designers who make the city their home, despite increasing factors of inhospitality. This first edition highlights artistic forms that center community and communication, that operate from a proactive rather than reactive position, and that foment grounded work and ideas. Extending over the summer of 2018, and featuring multiple multidisciplinary events, this edition presents a wide range of artistic practices, including performance, sculpture, design, sound, artistic research, writing, and more. The artists in this project comprise a wide range of backgrounds, concerns, and aesthetic sensibilities, but are joined here by a sense of productive criticality. 2 Unlimited is Cecilia Bengtsson, Em'Kal Eyongakpa, Amelia Groom, Zhana Ivanova, Ja Ja Ja Nee Nee Nee, Remy Jungerman, Patricia Kaersenhout, Aimée Zito Lema, Antonis Pittas, Werker Collective, and more...
