Mikrokosmos – Steffani Jemison and Justin Hicks

27.06.2019
17:00–21:00
de Appel, Schipluidenlaan 12, Amsterdam

Participants are welcome to bring an unamplified musical instrument or sound maker if they would like, but this is not required. There will be listening, there will be movement, and there will be music-making. We conceive Mikrokosmos as a project of musical “study without end” ('Debt and Study', e-flux.com, Fred Moten and Stefano Harney, 2010), and this workshop is an opportunity to study with us.

Voice Workshop: 17:00 - 18:45

This performance will also be a record release event for Another time, this time, one time, the first Mikrokosmos LP. Another time, this time, one time recomposes radical songwriter Gil Scott-Heron’s album We Almost Lost Detroitwhich casts his songs as tools for “articulating revolutionary melancholy.”
